Betty Kyallo’s entrepreneurship is set to suffer a set back as auctioneers target her flourishing salon, Flair By Betty, due to rent arrears. The Salon is located at Rose Avenue/George Padmore Road junction in Kilimani, Nairobi.

In a notice that was published in local dailies, Keysian Auctioneers announced that items from the salon will be auctioned on Wednesday April 17, 2024 following an application by the landlord. The exercise will be carried out at Leakey’s storage limited along Lunga Lunga road, Nairobi.

Items set to be auctioned include; a binatone microwave, small rolling seats, an office table, 12 barber seats, 3 seats attached with sinks, 9 CCTV cameras, a Huawei router, a small foot massage, a Mac Coffee maker, Hiluck video recorder and one door fridge. Others are 3 dismantled well shelves, a massage bad stand, 2 massage beds, a small serve rack, a glass shelf, 4 big mirrors, towel warmers and dressing tables among others.

The announcement comes at a time when Betty is set to re-open her major Barbershop Aftershave By Betty, that is located at La Baita,  Upperhill. The shop had been closed down for several weeks for renovations and it is set to be reopened on Monday.

The mother is also celebrating one year since opening an Aftershave branch in Meru.

“Muugeni Meru 1 year ago. Thank you. ❤️I didn’t imagine the support I would get from a place I don’t originate from. However Amerucans you have loved our brand. You keep coming to us. I love you for showing me that as an entrepreneur I can dream big. I can dream out of my community or comfort. I can explore our beautiful country. I didn’t have to be from Meru to succeed. Even though you gave me the name Makena you still supported me knowing I am Mutei from Mwingi. Thank you for loving @aftershavebyflairmeru to another year,” she said.

Betty further spoke of her makeup line, Unapologetic Africa, saying it speaks to her heart as she faces criticism and bullying

“I have learnt to live my life unapologetically. Being in the public eye since I was 21 made me not experience privacy of any kind no matter what I was going through as a normal young woman. I was loved, criticized, bullied for a lot of things that millions of women go through. Thats why my make up line @unapologeticafrica speaks to my heart. Being you no matter what. You can imagine waking up and you’re trending on Twitter (X) with the worst being said about you. I love me unapologetically. I love my highs and lows. I love me. I love what the love and hate did to me. To be @unapologeticafrica Get my foundation and beautiful lippies @superduper_cosmetics @truecosmeticsltd,” she wrote
