Kenyan national team Harambee Stars will be hosting Burundi national team today for  the 2026 world cup qualifier at Bingu Stadium in Malawi from 4:00pm EAT.

Kenya will be hosting that match away from Home because of the lack of a CAF approved stadium in the country.

Kenya has only hosted one international match in over two years, with the last being a friendly against South Sudan that was played at Kasarani stadium in September last year.

After two rounds of matches, Ivory Coast are leading group F with 6 points, same as Gabon but with a big goal difference.

Kenya and Burundi have 3 points but Kenya occupy third position for having a better goal difference.

Gambia and Sychelles are the other teams in the group at position 5 and 6 respectively with zero points each.

Kenya started the campaign with a 2-1 defeat against Gabon then the responded with a 5-0 win against Sychelles.

Harambee Stars will be hoping to build on their recent run of their form that has seen them win all their last three matches if they are to keep their world cup hopes alive.

Kenya has lost one of their six matches against Burundi, winning three and having two draws.

Harambee Stars head Coach Engine Firat has said his team is ready to face Burundi despite the several injuries that has hit his camp.

“Everything is okay. We needed to also prepare mentally for the match. We have players missing but we will put forward 11 Kenyan boys on the field and we will give our best,” Firat said.
