Tanasha Donna has been missing in action and many have been anticipating for her new music project that was set to drop this Friday.
Her fans have been met with disappointment as the singer chose to delay the release of her new song, to mourn Kenyans who died during the nationwide ant-finance bill protests.
“First Single for my project was to drop today but we are mourning the loses of our young heroes ……..untill further notice,” she wrote on her Instagram stories. The post was accompanied by the cover photo of her new album.
The mother of one acknowledged that this won’t be a good time to release the song because the nation is still mourning the various deaths due to the protests on Tuesday and Thursday that claimed innocent lives.
However, Tanasha hinted that she will inform her fans when the song drops.
The last song she released was ‘Karma’ a collaboration with Barak Jacuzzi, a year ago. It has over 600k views so far.
Speaking in a recent interview during in Rwanda, Tanasha revealed that she was in a contract that barred her from releasing new songs, hence her loud silence in the industry.
“I was in contractual prison but now I am free. I have an album coming up, 10 songs. It has been a long road but we are finally here. I was in a contract that kind of stopped me from dropping music so I had to wait until I am free from that contract which happened end of last year, now am free, I am back,” she said.
Various artists in the country have been forced to hold their projects due to the recent events in the country. Others have also been forced to cut ties with brands they believe to have contributed in any form to the chaos experienced during the protests.
