Hezekiah Oduor, the firstborn and elder brother of the late Gen. Francis Ogolla has described the fallen Chief of Defense Forces as a loving man.
Speaking during his funeral in Ng’iya, Siaya county, he admitted that it was very sad to receive the news of his death while they were in the middle of preparing the celebrations of their father’s 100th birthday.
He describe the fallen general as a staunch Christian who love prayers and the Bible.
“Ogolla was the fifth born in the family of Mzee Joel Oketch Oyeyo and mama Damaris Okello. General was a very loving.”
“He did a lot to his church, his community at the moment, he has left a very big gap in our family because he was taking care of our dad, he made sure that he gets medication and check ups regularly. He also made sure he sent something to the widows who were in his hands. They were over 30 widows. He also made sure that the students who were orphans in the area never miss their education and he had no love boundaries regardless of the economic background, social or education,” Hezekiah said.
The brother further noted that Ogolla’s has left behind a young widow hoping that with help her life will go back to normal.
“At least some concerns can be made so that her life can continue because her status in life had gone to a certain level and now General has left a gap. Otherwise I thank each of you for coming to condole with us and have journey mercies at the end of the function,” he concluded.
