Citizen Tv political reporter Stephen Letoo speaking in an official video has stepped down from the chairmanship of the Men’s conference.
Letoo has been the self proclaimed Chair for the past one and half years having taken over from Mzee Jackson Kibor who passed away.
Behind the Scenes of the Men’s Conference
For a while, there was talk of a men’s conference, but it turns out it was all just a big joke circulating on social media. If you scrolled through your social media feed before Valentine’s Day, you might have seen posters and updates about this supposed conference.
The idea behind the conference was to give men a break and teach them to be independent, especially in their relationships.
The leaders of the so-called men’s conferences have been polygamists – seen by some as people who go against the grain, against societal pressures, to do what they want to do.
Just before Valentine’s Day 2024, Stephen Letoo, a reporter for Citizen TV and self-proclaimed chairman the men’s conference, jokingly advised women to pack their husbands’ bags for the event, indicating they wouldn’t be home until Sunday at the earliest.
“After soul searching, i have been seeing what is happening online and i have arrived at the decision to step down as the chairman of the men’s conference and i have therefore tendered my resignation to the office of the men’s conference based in Nairobi and i will seize holding that office with immediate effect.”
Letoo continues to claim that he was advised by colleagues and friends within and outside the country to linguish the seat.
The reporter also says that he has allowed his members to seek a replacement and confesses that it was difficult to fill Mr Kibors shoes but also asserts that it will be even more harder to fill his shoes because of the huge achievements they made during his tenure.
Letoo additionally offers himself for any further consultation concerning the matter but also assures people that he will address more on the matter in due time.
The polygamous reporter thanked his members for the collaboration they have done in the past one year and encouraged the incumbent chairman saying that the seat is not for the faint hearted.
Moreover he advised the incoming chairman to continue championing the right of the boychild and the men’s mental health.
He however concluded by affirming that he still remains a member of the men’s conference group and available to offer any necessary advice to the group.
