Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi  has denied donating Sh20 million to a church harambee. This is after a video circulating on social media purportedly showed him donating Sh20 million.

On a recent video posted on his X account, Sudi clarified that Sh20 million was the total contribution made during the Harambee and not the amount he donated.

“All my wealth have been through sheer hard work. But some rely on sorcerers for overnight riches. In reference to the harambees that I have been attending, which has raised much furore, at no given point, have I contributed Ksh 20m as alleged,”Sudi said.

“As a matter of fact, the amount in question was the entire cash raised in the said Harambee. The church contributed Sh14 million on its own. Then we added the extra amount.”

The MP claimed that even before he joined politics, he was a church donor and there was no need to examine where he got his money.

The Member of Parliament declared that he is taking a leave of absence from public appearances due to the fact that his involvement in events like Harambees has been turned against him.

“Going forward, I’ll not participate in any Harambee because it has been used to malign and disparage the good course, let it be banned,” he said.

According to Sudi, he will take a year or two off from politics before deciding whether or not to leave the field.
