Renowned Kenyan musician Naiboi, born Michael Kennedy Claver, has long been a key player in the country’s vibrant music scene, showcasing his versatility across genres like Afro pop, dancehall, and genge. Notably, he co-founded the influential Pacho Entertainment record label, instrumental in nurturing emerging talents, including the signing of artists like Band Beca.

Naiboi’s track record of hits, such as “2in1,” “4mulla,” “I wanna be,” “usipime mwanaume,” “dinda,” and “sondeka,” has solidified his position in the hearts of music enthusiasts. Before adopting the name Naiboi, he was widely recognized as “Rap damu.”

Recently, the artist has been a hot topic on social media, with fans expressing concern over his notable absence from the music scene for the past two years. Admirers took to various platforms, including TikTok, to share videos featuring Naiboi’s music, underscoring their yearning for his distinctive vibe.

The surge in online activity was triggered by fans demanding Naiboi’s return, citing their deep appreciation for his talent. Comments flooded social media, with users like @muchene.jane expressing, “Naiboi just come back. I miss you,” and @katen-ke acknowledging Naiboi’s exceptional talent, saying, “Naiboi is a talented guy maze.”

In a revealing Instagram post in 2021,  the singer opened up about his struggles, lamenting the challenges he faced with undisclosed individuals hindering his music releases.

“All I ever wanted is to release music for my fans. And najua mafans wana shangaa whats up wit a Naiboi!! My hands been tied for almost 2 years now. And iam tired being at mercy of Hawa Wasee,” he shared.

Expressing deep frustration, he disclosed that despite having over 800 unreleased songs, he was unable to share a single one due to the alleged interference.

“I might need serious lawyers. I might, I think. Nimefika mwisho. I miss Naiboi as much as you do. Pray for me. I keep everything to myself a lot. But imefika mwisho. I love music so much it hurts me I have over 800 songs and I can’t release even a single one?????” he said
