Chelsea are on the last stages of appointing Leicester city head coach Enzo Maresca as their new Coach. With the blues chiefs looking to wrap up a quick deal for Leicester city boss.

Leicester city have given Chelsea permission to speak to Maresca after the 44 year old Italian emerged the blues number one target to replace Mauricio Pochettino who left on a mutual agreement.

Senior Chelsea officials are set to hold further talks with Maresca in Marbella, where he is spending his holiday, and they will also continue with discussions with Leicester city about the compensation fee.

Maresca guided Leicester to win the championship title this season and it is said that Chelsea sporting directors Paul Winstanely and Laurence Stewart are the once who recommended him as the outstanding candidate to Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.

Chelsea recruitment director Joe Shields worked with Maresca at Manchester city and he also provided glowing reports.

Maresca is likely to bring a nucleus of his Leicester backroom staff with him to Chelsea, which mean the return of former Chelsea keeper Willy Caballero.

Caballero has been Maresca assistant manager and he could return at the Stamford Bridge after almost three years.
