Popular media personality, Mwalimu Rachel has shared what she does when she is not working, revealing that she takes vare of herself.
Speaking with a local media outlet, Mwalimu Rachel said self-care is good for one’s mental health and she does sleep a lot when has free time.
“So, first of all, I try to sleep as much as I can whenever I’m not working and running around because heh! Sometimes you get yourself in a rat race, running everywhere.”
Outlining the importance of self-care, the radio presenter mentioned sleeping more and getting massage as some of her routine when she has free time.
“Whenever I have some time to myself, I like to give myself a whole lot of love. Self-care is the best thing ever. It’s good for the skin, it’s good for mental health…so nitalala abit longer. Nikiamka maybe I’ll even go to the spa I get a nice massage,” she remarked.
Rachel expressed her love for watching movies and series as they make her think out psychologically with an open mind.
“Then movies, I love watching movies and series I love. Right now, ‘Bridgerton’ is the one!!! I like also those psychological thrillers… makes you think,” she noted.
She also revealed that she cannot leave her house without her lip gloss, lipstick and powder as she has to maintain her face to look right.
What makes Rachel passionate about mentorship is having gone through a lot of pressure of life as she grew up. The pressure she agrees to have increased over time while the number of mentors decrease.
“I am passionate about it because I see the kind of pressure they are going through. Can we accept ourselves first and be cool with us being who we are? That’s coolness as well!” Mwalimu stated.
She urges young people to accept themselves first as who they are without trying to compete or copying other people’s lifestyle.
