Popular Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi took his complains to his Instagram page throwing insights at the Kenya kwanza government for having misplaced priorities.
Omondi said that leaders were focused on discussions about term limits and appointments yet Kenyans are stranded because of the flooding.
He was part of the rescue mission at Mangeli bridge in Athi River, rescuing over 30 people who were stranded. Eric was captured sailing a boat that was used in the mission.
“The government of kenya should rush to Mangeli Athi River before it’s too late. Disaster is about to strike. There are families stuck on the rooftops and time is ticking ….we have saved 34 people today from 8;30 am to 11:00 am and there are still hundreds stuck with children and disaster could strike anytime,” he wrote on Instagram
He further stated that, ‘Last night we saved a woman and 3 of her children in Ruiru’s OJ region .OUR PRIORITIES ARE UPSIDE DOWN …THIS GOVERNMENT ONLY CARES FOR ITSELF .NOW THEY ARE DISCUSSING PRESIDENTIAL TIME LIMITS AND APPOINTMENTS OF CAs WHILE PEOPLE ARE DYING .SISI KWA SISI WILL STAND IN GAPS.”
The viral video has since stirred netizen online who wondered what the politicians they voted for are really doing in office. Others try to convince Omondi to vie for presidency.
“Eric for president ,” one fan commented under his post .
“You dont have to be a politician to make a difference to your country,” another one of his online fans added.
The general public seems to be impressed by what the comedian is doing thus sending heartwarming comments on his Instagram page. Eric who has not shied away from doing works of charity seems to be fully prepared when Kenyans who are vulnerably affected need his help.
