Muluya

Kariobangi sharks head coach William Muluya is confident that their on-form striker John Makwata will only leave Kariobangi sharks for a club that is only outside the country.

Makwata is so far the best January mid-season transfer acquisition by any team in the FKF premier league. As he has revived Sharks attack that was dimmed in the first leg.

The former Ulinzi stars player has scored 13 league goals since he joined Sharks in January. And Muluya believes Kenyan clubs are out of the equation.

“He loves Kariobangi Sharks, he likes it here. I don’t think he will play for any other club in the country that is not us. He will, maybe, leave for a club outside the country,” Muluya said.

Being a key member in the squad, Muluya disclosed that they are also in negotiations with Makwata to remain in the club.

“I know that he values himself. He also knows that Sharks is a place where he calls home. You never know, we might also still be in negotiations with him to see if he can stay,”

“He is a key player to us. He has also adapted well to our style of play which favors him. It is a symbiotic relationship where both sides complement each other,” he continued.

With Makwata’s contract with Sharks ending at the end of the season, he will be a key figure as many clubs will try to sign him.
