In a recent statement, Pauline Njoroge, a prominent digital communication and political strategist, has called on Generation Z to suspend their planned protests.

Pauline message comes amidst increasing concerns over the safety and integrity of the movement, which she believes is being compromised by external forces.

“I strongly believe you should now release a poster cancelling the Tuesday and Thursday protests till further notice,” Pauline stated.

She explained that “Regime-sponsored goons have taken over with an aim to destroy the image of the patriotic movement that you began, that saw the successful rejection of Finance Bill 2024.”

Pauline commended the youth for their impactful activism, which has already led to significant political victories, such as the rejection of the controversial Finance Bill.

She advised the young activists to now change their focus and efforts to digital platforms.

“Calling off the street protest doesn’t mean going silent. Maintain a strong voice on the very powerful social media space, relentlessly demanding for better governance, accountability, and citizen-friendly policies and legislations. But the streets are a no-go zone for now.”

Njoroge’s statement highlights the increasing risks faced by the Gen Zs protesters on the ground, where reports of violence and infiltration by regime-aligned groups have raised alarms.

By shifting focus to online activism, she believes the movement can continue to exert pressure without compromising the safety of its participants.

This call for strategic withdrawal from street protests marks a significant moment in the ongoing activism led by the Gen Zs, reflecting an approach to advocacy in the face of adversity. The movement’s ability to adapt and remain resilient will be crucial as it navigates this challenging period.

People reacted to her message where others so it as a good idea but others viewed this as a retreat.

” She does have a point we won’t be teargassed in the comments section but what’s the fun in not being teargassed.”

“Watu wako streets saa hii hata sio Gen Zs wengine ni wazee hadi wamemea Mushrooms.”

For now, the digital battleground appears to be the only peaceful strategy for this generation’s fight for justice and reforms.
