Online Activist Hanifa Farsafi has accused some influencers of taking government offers to step down from protests experienced in the country.

On a post she shared on X account, Hanifa condemned the act saying it’s shameful as people died in the protests while others got paid.

“People from the statehouse obviously approached some influencers here me included. Some publicly declined while others took their offers. People died. We visit mortuaries and pay bills for the injured and we see how deep this is,” Hanifa revealed.

Additionally, the activist reflected the feeling of visiting morgues and hospitals to clear bills for the dead and the injured.

She says those who received offers from statehouse are being ridiculed that they were just in the streets because they were hungry.

“People died for this. And some of you all loud mouths here actually got paid. How does one even feel? Bro. Those paying you are even mocking you, saying you were just barking coz you’re hungry,” she added.

However, Hanifa clarified her message not being directed to Khalif Kairo as many would think but to other people no one can imagine of.

“Y’all so loud here but some few coins from statehouse you fold? Mnaanza kuchange gear lol and me I’m not referring to Khalif. I know that’s what you’re thinking too. It’s people you wouldn’t even imagine would be bought. Shame shame shame!” Clarified Hanifa.

Khalif Kairo, one of the frontiers in the protest has been accused of taking advantage of the protests to project his agenda.

This is after he changed his mind on the demos and started asking people to refrain from the protests to allow dialogue with the president.

He even attended an interview on one radio station where he aired his views on the countrywide demos. This brought him much trouble from the public as he was seen as a traitor.

Kairo dismissed the claims of being paid to step down from the protests and vowed not to comment or engage himself to anything to do with demos.
