26 year old businessman man whose attack was captured on CCTV camera is in critical condition after being shot in the neck on Saturday March 30 in Eastleigh area in Nairobi.

A doctor working at the hospital where Adan Ali Mohamed was admitted revealed that he sustained a spinal cord injury having suffered a gun shot wound.

According to reports, the bullet entered through his neck and exited through the back leaving him severely injured and hence he would require a specialized procedure.

“When the injury happened, the patient could not sense his legs and when he was brought, we managed to take care of him immediately,” the medical expert explained

Mohammed upon reaching the hospital after well-wishers rushed him to hospital after witnessing the robbery, could not feel his legs causing the doctors to perform a Computed tomography (CT) Scan and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

“We did imaging, a CT Scan, and MRI. That confirmed our fears which shows that he has got a serious injury in his spinal cord. He will require a procedure to stabilise the spine and decompress the spinal cord to give him a chance for recovery.”

A relative of Mohammed revealed to to the press that the businessman was carrying Ksh 4 Million in cash before being accosted and shot in the neck by a robber riding on another motorcycle.

Mohammed was en-route to Business Bay Square (BBS) mall to bank the money covering a two-day sales of cooking oil.

“He was taking two-day sales of cooking oil to the bank. He found the bank closed and called his colleague to inform him. He was told to take a motorbike and within a half-kilometer, he was accosted by thieves whose origins were unknown. He was shot and robbed of the money.” The relative told the press.

Following the incident, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations arrived at the scene to gather evidence and assess the situation as police based in Eastleigh confirmed that a manhunt for the two perpetrators had been launched.
