In a recent address, Hon. Zaheer Jhanda, Nyaribari Chache constituency Member of Parliament, called on citizens to exercise patience with the current administration.

Jhanda emphasized the necessity of granting President William Ruto’s government more time to fulfill its promises and address inherited challenges.

“I am asking the young people, please give this government time,” Jhanda urged. “The president, his excellency William Ruto, is a young president. He understands, he listens, he is a caring, listening president.”

Jhanda mentioned that it has only been two years since taking office, noting that progress is on the way despite significant obstacles.

He pointed to the substantial national debt inherited from the previous government as a challenge.

“We inherited a debt of 9.6 trillion shillings,” Jhanda stated, “and you can see that the government is actually trying to service it.”

The MP also addressed concerns regarding the controversial finance bill, which has faced opposition from many young people dubbed Gen Z. He assured citizens that the bill would yield positive results in the future.

“The bill is going to be phenomenal in the new future,” Jhanda promised, “then Kenyans will see what exactly will come through to pass.”

Jhanda’s remarks come amid a period of public scrutiny and economic challenges, as the government seeks to balance development initiatives with fiscal responsibility.

However the people did not fall these words more so given that the government has been in power for the past two years but still people are suffering with increase in taxes.

Some of the few reactions from people include,

“2 years and life is so tough…8 more years to milk us dry.”

Okello Max, the renowned musician, who is famously know for his urban rhumba hit songs also had something to say,

“Time mlipewa, mkakula, mkamaliza, mkagusa pabaya na kuongeza taxes Kwa the bad economy we’re in, near future my foot, tokeni sasa.”
