On Tuesday evening, actress Jackie Matubia organized a screening session for her movie Toxic, whose first episode is set to drop on YouTube this Wednesday.

Speaking to the media at the event, the mother of two was questioned whether the movie and it’s title had been triggered by her baby daddy.

Responding to the query, Jackie said. “I am an artist, I am an executive producer, I am an influencer, I tell stories, even from the way I dress, you can tell a story from where I dressed. I always tell stories. So msikuje muanze ooh sijui nini. I am here to tell stories.”

Mike Saruni, a fellow main character in the film added that the movie is about experiences that happen to everyone.

“This is something that has happened to everyone. I am sure hata wewe hapo ndani utajiona. Ukijiona wewe furahia tu ujue this is our stories,” he said.

At the same time, Jackie said that it has been her dream to produce a movie, and she developed the idea about toxic in December 2023.

“Every artist imekuwa dream yake to one day produce. Nakumbuka in January when I was writing unajua kale kakitabu unaandika the goals you want to do for 2024, doing my own production was the last one na niliandika ile ya  how? And God made sure ile umeandika vibaya itakuwa ya kwanza. Honest I can not believe I have gotten here, no sponsors, no nothing and I have stood. Just an actress who decided to be an executive producer people do not believe in the dream but it does not need to make sense to anyone but you,” she said.

She added that more of her productions, based on Kenyan stories, will be coming.

Jackie has however been speaking highly of her first baby daddy Kennedy Njogu with whom they are currently co-parenting well.

On several occasions, she has hinted that her second baby daddy Blessing Lungaho is a dead beat and is not willing to take part in their daughter’s life.

“I only talk to my first baby daddy. Yeah. Unajua ukiongea na ukuta huwa inarespond kweli? I rest my case,” she said earlier this month.
