Bwire

Bwire Ndubi, who played the role of Dida on Sultana TV series, has opened up on her separation with her long term lover Dan Sonko.

In an interview with Lynne Ngugi, Bwire confirmed that she was no longer with Dan although she did not give the exact reason for their separation.

She however maintained that she is still friends with the father of two despite whatever happened between them.

“Dan and I are actually not in a good place. I know that’s a touchy-feely topic we are not together anymore but he is my friend. That’s all I can say if you allow me say that. This is someone who has seen me go through the worst of my life. As much as people would want to focus on that situation from a negative point of view after going through my heart and whatever, I stand here sit here and say he is my friend and I understand his battles, I have my own  he’s walked with me through some of my own and I with him through some of his, and he’s my friend and will keep being my friend,” the actress said.

Reports about the separation were brought into the limelight by Dan early last month. Through a statement on social media, The Mombasa-based actor said that they had arrived at the decision amicably.

“Bwire Ndubi and I are no longer romantically together. We are still very good friends, but when it comes to love/family – to each their own. We still maintain a cordial business relationship. I respect her as a queen in her own right. I care deeply for her, but the decision we arrived at was mutually agreed,” Dan wrote.

He also revealed that they had not been married and therefore the separation shouldn’t be regarded as divorce

Dan and Bwire Ndubi began dating in 2018 after the death of Dan’s wife, who died while delivering their second born. Dan’s late wife is said to have been Bwire’s friend.
