Several people are feared dead after a Tahmeed Bus collided head on with a petrol tanker near Mundika High school along Busia-Bumala road.

The collision resulted into an an explosion that caused a fire. It still remains unclear whether there are any survivors from the bus  which was bound for Mombasa or the tanker.

Videos shared online indicate the horror that was witnessed with the bus being completely damage.

Those around are also seen trying to extinguish the fire.

The Busia accident becomes the latest involving buses from the Tahmeed Coach LTD.

In February 4, another Tahmeed bus that was  bound for Malindi was involved in an accident. The bus reportedly burnt into flames.  Fortunately, all the 48 passengers on board were safely evacuated.

“Fortunately, all 48 passengers onboard were evacuated safely and promptly. We are grateful for the swift action that ensured everyone’s safety,” said part of a statement from the company. Our teams assisted these passengers with completing their journey on alternative buses. We understand this event may have caused significant inconvenience and distress, and we sincerely apologize for any impact it has had on our passengers,” the bus company said, adding that the cause of the fire was under investigation.

Another incident was witnessed in April 17, 2023 when a Tahmeed Coach company overturned along the Nakuru- Eldoret highway killing 4 passengers. The same year in January a Tahmeed bus headed to Mombasa burst into flames near Voi town Taita Taveta county.
