National super league side Luanda villa have appointed former AFC leopards Gilbert Selebwa as their new Head Coach.
The latest development marks the return of the experienced tactician to the second tier after close to five years.
It also marks the demotion of Tom Tera, who held the pole coaching at Luanda, to the rank of assistant as the trainer has been handed a lighter task of deputizing Selebwa.
Tera guided the team to punch an automatic promotion ticket last year and has overseen 32 matches so far in the ongoing campaign.
Given the results Luanda villa have achieved so far in the season, the club wasn’t expected to ring changes in the technical bench.
However, it appears that the management is laying the ground for promotion to be the top in the league.
” After a thorough search and evaluation, we have appointed Gilbert Selebwa, the former coach of AFC leopards, as our new club Manager.
Selebwa brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in football management. We are confident that his expertise will propel Luanda villa to new heights”. the statement from the club.
The arrival of Selebwa will give room to Tera to pursue his CAF B coaching license as well.
