Diddy

In a heartfelt apology, famous American rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs addressed the anger  following the release of a disturbing video.

The footage was aired by CNN and quickly went viral showing Diddy kicking and pushing singer, dancer, and model Cassandra Elizabeth Ventura, simply known as Cassie, in a hotel hallway in Los Angeles.

The video has lead to a  widespread condemnation, with many expressing their disappointment in Diddy for his unbelievable behaviour.

LeBron James, the renowned professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers, unfollowed Combs on social media, other celebrities such as Betty Kyallo, a TV47  media personality, also showed their disappointment in him reflecting the general public world wide disapproval of Diddy’s assault to Cassie.

In his apology, he did not deny the gravity of his actions. “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, sometimes you gotta do that.”

“I was fucked up,” he began. “But I make no excuses. My behaviour in that video was inexcusable,” he accepted.

Taking full responsibility, the rapper expressed his deep remorse, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I am disgusted. I was disgusted then. I am disgusted now.”

He revealed that the incident had prompted him to seek professional help. “I had to go for therapy, I had to go to rehab, had to ask God for His mercy and grace. I am so sorry.”

Despite of his public apology, he made it clear that he was not seeking forgiveness. “I am committed to being a better man each and every day. I am not asking for forgiveness. I am sorry.”

After Diddy released the video of him apologizing shared on Instagram on Sunday, one of Cassie’s lawyers, Meredith Firetog said the following statement according to celebrity website TMZ.

“That he was only  compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”

He said this since Combs had earlier denied all the accusations against him.

” Enough is enough,” he said this in December 2023 saying that his accuser where only looking for a quick pay day. This was also through his Instagram page.

Cassie has not publicly responded to the  the apology. The incident shows the ongoing issue of domestic violence and abuse.
