Peter Salasya is facing arrest after failing to clear a Kshs500,000 debt that he owes a businessman from Kakamega, following a court ruling.
The arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday by the Kakamega court.
Responding to that, Salasya has however called out the court, accusing it of his his name to chase clout and trying to intimidate him.
“I want to tell the courts of Kakamega that I have never heard you handle any serious matter. Ati if you want to trend, trend with Peter Salasya. I want to tell the Kakamega courts that you will not soil my name. I am not the first person to owe anyone. You have played politics with this matter. Is it only Peter Salasya’s case that is being handled in Kakamega?” The Mumias East MP said, but vowed to present himself at the court to sort out the issue, adding that he also has his rights.
He further went ahead to expose the businessman’s lawyer, for swindling him Kshs70,000, which was part of the payment for the debt.
Apparently, the lawyer, identified as Edwin Wafula, told the court that he had reversed the money to Salasya but he never did so. Salasya shared the screenshots of his mobile transaction and a conversation between his lawyer and Wafula to support his claims.
