Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has reacted after  Babu Owino declared himself the chief opposition leader.

Salasya asked Babu who is a close ally of Raila Odinga to stop taking advantage of the Gen Z movement.

He accused the Embakasi East MP of trying to capture what the young people have been long fighting for in the streets.

“Mwambie huyo Babu Owino akojoe akalale na hiyo ujinga wake of chief opposition. Babu of ODM who is on record on defending baba on weakening opposition ati he is now our chief opposition? Jokes wacha tu Genz iendelee kuwa opposition to press government,” Salasya commented.

Moreover, Mumias East boss mentioned that ODM party is “greedy” with intentions of benefiting from the government and opposition sides.

“ODM is greedy for everything. They are in government still want to be in house leadership, pac, minority leader, chief whip, chief opposition leader, wao ati ndio marginalized community. Aaaiii mkule from all sides?” he said

Condemning the character, Peter Salasya maintains that Gen Z started it and should be left to continue putting the government in check.

“We must stop this kind of greediness. Genz ndio dawa pekee to the government and must not die or stop calling out what they feel is not good for the country,” he asserted.

Babu Owino had earlier declared himself as ‘chief opposition leader’ stating that people who were in the opposition are now in the government.

“From today henceforth, I am the chief opposition leader. There are so many people who were in the opposition and are now in bed with the government.” Babu Owino said.

This is after four members from ODM were nominated by President Ruto to his cabinet.

The party maintains that it was not aware of the motive behind the nomination, and it never took part in organizing the move.
