Harambee stars Captain Michael Olunga through his academy Michael Olunga foundation is set to acquire debt ridden Swedish third tier club AFC Eskilstuna.
Eskilstuna is club where Kenyan duo Henry Meja and Frank Odhiambo plays for, and it is struggling financially and therefore Olunga is set to come to the club’s aid.
Olunga played in the Sweden league between 2016 and 2017 after leaving FKF premier league champions Gor Mahia.
According to Swedish publication Eskilstuna-Kuriren, Olunga is finalizing deal to acquire the club and he will also pay the debts that it has, making a total of KES 48 million.
Although Olunga is said to have no major interest in owning the club, he sees it as a good platform to expose the young talents that he has been signing for his academy from Schools and other clubs here in Kenya.
Eskilstuna is currently on position 11 with 11 points after 10 games.
