James Stephen, an American Youtuber and online personality, popularly known as Mr Beast, said he would spend approximately $120 million in content shooting this year.
Speaking to fellow Youtuber Jon Youshaei in a recent interview, Mr Beast added that this would cover a total of 30 videos.
“From buying private islands to building cities, I just want to be the most subscribed channel,” said Mr Beast.
The entrepreneur is currently the most subscribed creator on YouTube at 261 million subscribers.
Mr Beast said that most people are stuck with his content because he gives them what they want and what satisfy them.
“The reason why 100 million people keep coming back every video is because we try and constantly prioritize what they want and what makes them happy. Views and performance matter but ultimately we are just trying to make the audience happy, and I want to give them videos that they will like,” he added.
He clarified the importance of views and how content is presented but emphasized his goal being making the audience ‘happy’.
The 26-year-old philanthropist shared in the interview that most of his ideas are original while a few are “Copy and paste”.
He has made many videos with very unique ideas using 300 cameras and had content worth petabytes.
“This is where I elevate the idea, share the credit and blend it from many sources. As compared to copy and pasting where one imitates the idea, takes all the credit and acquires the video from one source,” Mr Beast explained.
The YouTuber has collected more than 49 billion views according to ViewStats, and an estimated revenue of 1.9 to 5.3 million dollars per video.
