Imelda Judith Khamenya was named the first victim of Collins Jomaisi Khalisia, the prime suspect in the pile of bodies that were discovered at Kware dumping site, in Mukuru Kwa Njenga, on Friday June 12.

Khamenya and Khalisia were husband and wife but there love turned sour in 2022, with Khalisia strangling her to death, before dismembering her body and dumping it at Kware.

The suspect descended on his wife after she allegedly failed in managing the two businesses he had opened for her.

“Out of bitterness, he killed her and dumped the body into the quarry. But that is subject to further investigations. So apparently, he is a person full of bitterness and vengeance,” DCI boss Mohamed Amin told the press on Monday, hours after Khalisia’s arrest in Soweto, Kayole.

Months letter, after murdering his wife, Khalisia developed the urge to kill women, and he confessed to the police that he has so far dumped 42 bodies at Kware. He was arrested while in the process of luring another victim to his trap.

As Kenyans continue to wrap their heads around the heinous act, the mother of Khamenya has surfaced, presenting herself to DCI on Monday evening, following reports that her daughter was no more.

The mother revealed that she filed a formal complain in 2022, at the police station in Mukuru kwa Njenga, about her missing daughter.

According to her, towards the late of 2021, there was a person who used to call her informing her that he had married her daughter Khamenya

“In 2022, another man, claiming to be a pastor and living in Sinai said he was with her. Huyo mtu alianza kunigombanisha, nikakasirika nikamwambia kama unaona mtoto ni mzuri basi kaa naye,” she said.

The distraught mother said that her daughter was active on social media but she went silent in 2022.

“Alikuwa amepotea but sometimes alikuwa kwa mtandao akichat na wengine. Lakini wakati ilifika 2022 account yake ikanyamaza hata akitextiwa hawezikurudisha. Tangia wakatio huo sikumsikia tena ndio nimeskia leo ati aliuawawa,” she said.
