Renowned musician and entrepreneur KRG the Don has officially announced his intention to run for Member of Parliament in the 2027 elections.
This revelation came during an interview on the popular talk show “This Friday With Betty,” hosted by Betty Kyallo a famous media personality.
“I got to become a public officer. I serve the public,” KRG the Don declared passionately, showing his dedication to serve the public.
Despite his clear intentions, he remained silent about the specific constituency he plans to represent. He however gave his reasons why he wishes that to remain disclosed.
“I want to start with MP,” he confirmed, but added, “I don’t want kupatia watu wapanic,” suggesting he wants to avoid causing unnecessary anxiety or speculation among potential opponents or the people of that constituency.
He further stated, “staki kutoa pesa ya matanga,” indicating his desire to maintain a silent atmosphere free from financial expenses until the right time for campaign.
KRG the Don is not the only celebrity eyeing a political career in the upcoming elections. Joining him are other prominent figures such as Kabugi, who has expressed interest in running for the Nakuru Town East Constituency seat.
“Watu wa Nakuru sijasettle bado but I will be on the ballot,”
Kabugi stated. This was to affirm his political intentions in Nakuru County come the year 2027.
Similarly, Dr. Ofweneke also revealed his aspirations to contest for a political seat in Kakamega though he didn’t specify the exact seat. He stated that if we shall complain about the food brought to the table then we should go to the kitchen.
“Kama tutacomplain kuhusu chakula imeletwa kwa meza then tuingie jikoni tupike.”
With their diverse backgrounds and strong public followings, they promise to bring fresh perspectives to the political landscape.
