Pilot and businessman Khalif Kairo has continued to face criticism over the post he made about the ongoing anti-government protests.
Kairo had earlier shared his thoughts via his X account telling people to stop being used to destroy their own nation.
“Going to the streets everyday will cause this country more harm than good. We can continue putting pressure in other ways that don’t endanger lives or bring an economy crisis,” Kairo shared.
Hakuna kitu mnafanya saa hii.
Going to the streets everyday will cause this country more harm than good.
We can continue putting pressure in other ways that don’t endager lives or bring an economy crisis.
One day mtaona sense yangu, saa hii nakaa fala fulani which is okay. https://t.co/5RHRYdb6VO— khalif kairo (@KhalifKairo) July 15, 2024
This brought him more critics as people asked him to stay away from the ongoing demos as he had promised earlier.
Furthermore, replying to a comment, Kairo surrendered to his censurers saying he with those having jobs won’t be affected much with a collapsed economy.
“Continue destroying your country then. Those of us with strong international connections can always move and go build other countries like Somalis have done.”Nyinyi wenye hamna kazi, kesho economy ikicollapse kabisa ni nyinyi mtaumia zaidi.”
However, because of his opinion , he has been attacked from all corners, some accuse him of having ego and ask him to focus on his car business.
Dennis Ombachi, an online influencer commented: “Stop overestimating your importance kuuza magari sio kuunda nchi, anybody can do that. People who build nations are scholars, doctors, teachers e.t.c. They are the foundation of every civilization, and they are already in the streets demanding for change. The government you are defending its primary role and ultimate responsibility is ensuring the social progress and well-being of its people which it has failed.” D
On the other hand, another X user, Wandera focused on criticizing the way Kairo conveys his message.
“Problem with you is how you put your message across. You put your point across with so much pride and ego.”
“All that ‘those of us’ is very unnecessary. Very careful sir money is very fleeting. Boast with something else that isn’t. And put your point across without belittling people,” Wandera pointed out.
