The Kenya Under 17 national team ( Junior Starlets) made a significant step towards making an historic world cup qualification after a 3-0 win over Burundi Yesterday in the first leg of the fourth and final round of 2024 world cup qualifiers.

Starlets set the tone of the match early with Midfielder Lorna Faith opening the scoring sheet in the 11th minute.

Kenya continued to dominate the game and just a minute before half time Marion Serenge doubled the lead. Giving coach Mildred Cheche’s team a 2-0 advantage at the break.

The Win was sealed at the 77th minute when Midfielder Susan Okoth found the net to make it 3-0 for the Junior Starlets.

The second leg fixture is scheduled to take place at Ulinzi Complex in Nairobi on Sunday.

The winner of this Matchup secures an automatic qualification to the 2024 FIFA U 17 World Cup which will take place from October in the Dominican republic.
