Mourihno

AS Roma have sacked their head coach Jose Mourinho following a poor performance, where they have just won one of their last Six Serie A games and were recently knocked out of the Coppa Italia.

Mourinho joined Roma in 202. He spent two- and- half years in the role as head coach leading them to the Europa Conference League in 2022 in Budapest last season. The Portuguese tactician leaves the club ninth on the league table, and his departure has been confirmed after the loss against AC Milan on Sunday at San Siro.

The recent 3-1 loss to AC Milan through penalties was their seventh of the season, leaving them at the ninth position on the table.

He previously managed Chelsea, Manchester united and Real Madrid. Jose has been sacked for the sixth time in his career.

While confirming the exit of the Premier League and Champions League-winning coach, the club’s owners, Dan and Ryan Fried-kin, said they will always remember Mourinho’s work and memories.

”We will always have great memories of his tenure as the head coach at Roma, but we believe  that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club. We wish Jose and his assistants all the best in their future endeavours,” he said.

The giallorossi only have one win in six of their last Serie A games, and this left the position of Jose as coach being exposed. They were kicked out of  the Coppa Italia by Lazio.

Mourinho has in the past not indicated a desire to step away from coaching, his immediate future in the game is unclear as he has now been dismissed by his last four clubs and the assumption is rife that he might land a new club pretty soon. For a man of his successes in different countries he might be back on the touchline soon.
