Senator Okiyah Omtatah of Busia County has been involved in an accident around the Ojola area on his way to Busia.
The accident occurred after a trailer lost control and hit his car off the road.
“The trailer hit mine as I tried to swerve. The trailer landed in a ditch few meters away. it was going to be a bad accident, but I was lucky. By the time it reached my vehicle, it was moving aside. I had a driver,” he said.
Luckily the renown activist did not sustain any injuries.
“The car did not roll over. I had my seat belt on hence it held me intact on the chair so i did not get any injuries all is well,” Omtatah added.
The driver of the trailer after being interrogated by the police from Maseno said his brakes had failed forcing him to swerve from the road hence hitting the senator’s car.
