Member of Parliament for Dadaab constituency Farah Maalim has clarified that he did not call for the death of youths who are protesting in the country.

In another video, Farah says he has a clean political track that has been achieved by very few people in the political context.

“I have a very long history, over 30 years of history in the politics of this country. And am one person who would say that has had a track record that is matched by few people in the political history of this country,” Maalim narrated.

Expressing his love and commitment for the country, Maalim says he always does what he feels is better for this country.

“I have always been a Kenyan, what I did is that I came in as an opposition member of parliament in 1992 on FORD Kenya. What I feel in my conscious is best for this country is what I am going to do,” he stated.

In addition to that, the MP related what is happening in the name of peaceful protest to what brought unrest to other African countries.

“What am calling for this state, I am calling for it because I don’t want us to go the Sudan way, or go the Somalia way or go the Libyan way or any other ways.”

“So, my position is, I never called for the death of anybody, I will never call for it. When it comes to votes, I will go back to my constituency, it’s called Dadaab.” Farah Maalim added.

He accompanied the video with a caption that calls for peace, harmony and cohesion of the country.

“Lets protect peace, harmony and cohesion. Our youth are our future. Lets protect our country. God bless Kenya.”

Agreeing with what the Dadaab MP said, Muna Layla, an X user commented:

“Farah Maalin has a track record of advocating for human rights and social justice. He has been involved in numerous campaigns and initiatives to promote and protect the rights. He continues as a politician to be a vocal and dedicated advocate for creating a more equitable and just society.” Muna-Layla
