Maliachi

Nairobi united left-back Evans Maliachi is set to depart on Wednesday to finalize his transfer to Rwanda national league side Bugeresa FC.

The Kenyan international has agreed to a two-year contract deal with the Rwandese top tier club and he is expected to sign the deal on Thursday in the presence of his representatives.

Maliachi who played for the Kenyan national team Harambee stars under the leadership of coach Adel Amrouche and Bobby Williamson was initially set to join Bugeresa FC early this year on January.

However the deal did not succeed because of the financial challenges of the club, leading him to sign a short term contract with Nairobi united which expires at the end of this Month.

“I will be travelling on Wednesday. All arrangements are in place, and my agent and I will finalize everything on Thursday before waiting for the preseaso,” he said.

“I have been quietly watching the team’s matches, and I am very impressed by the talents that are there. We can make a formidable side together, and I can’t wait to get started,” Maliachi added.

The footballer also said  that securing a move abroad is a dream come true after many years of patience, and sees it as motivation to continue performing well.

“It is a massive move in my career. I have longed for it for some time now, and I can only get better each day to attract more such opportunities.” He said.

Bugeresa FC had a challenging start of the 2023/2024 season, finishing 13th position in the 16 team table, and narrowly avoided relegation on goal difference.

However, they reached the finals of the peace cup, where they lost to record champions APR Rwanda.
