Maribe

Former TV girl Jacque Maribe has landed a government job, nearly after 6 years of battling murder charges.

The mother of one was appointed as the head of communications in the ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management, whic is headed by CS Moses Kuria.

This comes just a month after she was acquitted of the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani that occurred in September 2018.

Maribe’s appointment has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans, some wishing her the best as she finally gets to rebuild her life, whereas others are pondering how the disgraced journalist was able to land such a high profile job.

Kuria, in an interview with the Nation, has however confirmed the appointment, while setting the record straight that he is not the one who appointed her.

“It is true, except I am not the one who appointed her but the Public Service Commission,” he clarified.

By appointing Maribe, Kuria said, Kenya Kwanza administration is keen on justice and providing equal opportunities.

“It’s the right thing to do for Jacque as the President Ruto administration is keen to demonstrate that there is nothing like life in the ashes. This is a country of justice, equal opportunity and one that will lend you hand to rise from the ruins,” he said.

Maribe on the other hand welcomed the appointment, expressing her gratitude.

“The truth will always set us all free has worked and I thank God for everything,” she said. “Let’s wait and see if the hand of God  is revealing itself in my new appointment.

Her longterm friend, Dennis Itumbi, who is believed to have had a hand in the appointment, also didn’t hesitate from celebrating Maribe’s new win.

Congratulations, Jacque Maribe. May God bless you as you serve,” shared the digital strategist. “Thank you Honourable Moses Kuria for standing with a generation, please keep doing good and stretching your hand.”
