Jacque Maribe left Kenyans talking after it merged that she landed a Heads of Communication job in the ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management.
Kenyans couldn’t wrap their head around how she landed the high profile job a month after being acquitted of the murder of Businesswoman Monica Kimani.
Moses Kuria, who heads the Public Service Confirmed the appointment, dispelling claims of being the one who made the appointment said that the Public Service Commission(PSC) was responsible for the appointment.
“It is true, except I am not the one who appointed her but the Public Service Commission. It’s the right thing to do for Jacque as the President Ruto administration is keen to demonstrate that there is nothing like life in the ashes. This is a country of justice, equal opportunity and one that will lend you hand to rise from the ruins,” Kuria said.
PSC has however denied Kuria’s claims saying Jacque Maribe was not appointed to serve in the capacity.
“The Public Service Commission has not appointed former Royal media Services Journalist Jacque Maribe as the Head of Communication at the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management, contrary to social media posts attributed to Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria,” PSC clarified in statement.
The commission added that it had not received any requests seeking to employ Maribe as the Head of Communication.
“PSC chairperson Amb. Anthony Muchiri clarified that no such appointment has been made, neither has a request to employ her been received by the body,” PSC said.
Muchiri further noted there was no vacancy for the position and if it arises it would be filled through a competitive process.
“For the record the said position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise,” he said.
