Kenya Defense Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale issues another Gazzete Notice confirming the deployment of KDF across all 47 counties.
A new Gazzete Notice arising from the High Court ruling the CS to indicate the scope of the deployment of military internally.
Particularly, Duale indicates the army will assist the police restore and maintain order countrywide.
“Based on the prevailing threats to national security planned and orchestrated through various platforms in the cyber space, the deployment will cover the Forty-Seven Counties within the Republic of Kenya where critical installations are located” Duale noted in Gazzete Notice No 7868.

The CS says the deployment of the army shall continue to work alongside their police counterparts until normalcy is restored in the country.
High Court Judge Lawrence Mugambi directed on Thursday the CS to indicate the terms of military engagements. He also directed the duration of the engagement be clearly defined and gazetted within the next two days.
“Deploying the military in a blanket manner without defining the scope or nature of the intervention, the duration of such intervention, is a dangerous trend that can bring about militarization of the country which is antithetical to the enjoyment of rights and freedoms,” he argued.
Conversely, Kenyans had questioned the constitutionality of the army deployment saying the right steps were not followed.
However, influencers have commented on the move by the government to involve the army in internal security issues in the country.
“Letting KDF undertake civilian security is the biggest miscalculation by the Presidency. Kenyans have no love lost for National Police Service. The Police without reflection shoot at Kenyans without any provocation. On the other hand, our Army is known for being civil & don’t shoot Kenyans. The danger will arise when Kenyans switch loyalty to the army,” Donald Kipkorir on X.
“The National Police Service is being dragged under bus and null to duties. The big catch may be the fear of unknown or division of power from within,” Robinson.
“Ruto has been misadvised by the likes of Duale to Rush things and involve the military. Biggest miscalculation ever. Thats how you get overthrown,” Jim Njue
