Citizen TV has reportedly suspended veteran Swahili anchor Swaleh Mdoe from reading news.
According to a source who spoke to a local media outlet, Swaleh was suspended for failing to read 1 pm news on January 23 and since then, the anchor has not been seen on screen.
The source further revealed that Swaleh missed airing the news because he had gone for medical check-up but he failed to inform his supervisor.
Upon returning to work the following day, he was summoned by his bosses, who barred him from going on air.
It is alleged that he has however been reporting to work on a daily basis.

This is not the first time the award-winning journalist is suspended from anchoring news. In April 20, 2015, Swaleh, Mwanahamisi Hamadi, Shisia Wasilwa, Kimeli Arap Kemei, Yusuf Ali and several other journalists were suspended for 10 days for allegedly being involved in bribery.
The RMS owned station suspended the crew after they allegedly received money from an influential Nairobi politician to kill an embarrassing story about the politician in question.
The suspension was aimed at allowing investigations into the matter, and they later resumed their duties.
Swaleh joined Citizen TV in March 2007 after leaving KTN where he had worked from 2001-2006.
Other media houses that he has worked in include; Kenya Times, Standard Newspapers, The Message, Weekly Mail, BBC and Nation TV,
