First Daughter Charlene Ruto on Tuesday gave praise to young Kenyans who had come out to oppose the Finance Bill 2024.
As a youth champion, she said she understood the cries of Generation Z and was grateful that they were interested in current affairs.
On a recent post on her X account, she wrote that she stood at a very unique position regarding the issues facing the country.
” As a president’s daughter, I have no doubt in my mind, watching my father rise in politics for over 30 years, seeing his work and passion behind the scenes, that he truthfully holds the best interests of Kenyans at heart.”
“This is a game-changer. Let us do it consistently, in an informed manner, with respect and honor. That is how we will be heard,” she stated.
I stand at a very unique position regarding the issues facing my country Kenya as we speak.

Charlene urged young Kenyans to always speak up for their rights and voice their concerns when they feel taken advantage of, even though she did not firmly support or oppose the Finance Bill.
The government’s handling of young people who took to the streets to protest the Finance Bill stood in sharp contrast to the First Daughter’s support.
The Law Society of Kenya and the opposition have accused the National Police Service of abducting young Kenyans who were posting negative comments about the Bill on social media.
In Nairobi and other regions of the country, police officers have also been accused of harassing and using tear gas on peaceful protestors.
