Comedian Butita has responded to rumuors that have been doing rounds on social media, over his role in the YY and Maria Okoth’s break up.

While appearing on Obinna TV, Butita was left perplexed about how someone would come up with such a narrative leading to misinformation and tainting of his reputation.

“Narratives are all over the internet. Ushaiona narratiuve mpaka unashangaa na hii mumeitungia wapi. Huyu ni mimi. Juzi nimecreatiwa narrative ati mimi nimechukua bibi ya YY. Yaani msee anaandika ni kama kuna evidence and facts. Someone is writing a paragraph, well punctuated. Weeh, hii ni familia ya msee unataka kuniingiza ndani. Ako serious anasema ni kitu ilihappen. Ati YY discovered that Butita is a fake friend. I was like yaani wewe uko na information gani hii,” the comedian said.

He however noted that he wasn’t going to take the allegations lying down. He is seeking to sue two individuals over defamation to serve as lesson to others.

“I said let me pick two people as an example. It is good  when we have misinformation, we know the consequences of pushing misinformation. Defamation does not serve only mtu mwenye amefanya, even you sharing and enabling defamation makes you an accomplice. I need to pick two people wawe funzo. Prove watu you are saying or pay me 20 or 25 million mtauza nyumba,” he said.

Butita maintained that he is good friends with YY, insinuating that he would never go between him and his wife.

Marya was one of the popular cast in Butita’s YouTube drama series A Nurse Toto.

Just  a few weeks ago, Maria took to social media to announce that her union had come to an end. YY on the other hand has declined to share information regarding their breakup.
