Deceased TikToker and socialite Brian Chira will be laid to rest on Tuesday March 26, 2024.

This is according to Phaustine Malkia, who is popularly known as Baba Talisha.

In a TikTok video, Phaustine said that the burial date was set after a meeting between Chira’s family and  the funeral committee.

“The burial date will be on 26th March 2024, that is Tuesday next week,” Baba Talisha updated TikTok users.

He added that Chira’s funeral service will be held at his grandmother’s home in  Githunguri Kiarie.

“The place has a field and will be enough space for mourners,” Phaustine said, adding that he would share details of the location.

The photographer also said that the body will only viewed at the Kenyatta funeral home, where it is currently lying.

“The body would then be transported home where the grandmother is. There will be no viewing of the body once it leaves the mortuary. So they have said, everyone should be at the venue by 6  for viewing. There will be then be a short mass  before the body is transported after that no one will view the body at home, because of the Kikuyu traditions,” he explained.

After the funeral service at his grandmother’s home, the body would be then transferred to his great grand parents home for burial.

“Penye shosho aliolewa walikataa mwili isiende huko and they don’t want to be associated with anything to do with the funeral so we will not ask why kwa programme kumekosa familia ingine, that is the information I was given kindly don’t ask me more” he further said.

The immediate family and some close friends will be the only ones who will escort Chira’s to his final resting place. He further said that those who would want to attend Chira’s funeral and body viewing will have to cater for their own transport. Transport for the community from where Chira’s grandmother comes from will however be sorted by the burial committee.

The date for candle lighting is yet to be set but will be done on either this coming Sunday or Monday in Nairobi, but his other friends who are in different locations can also do the same from wherever they are.

The budget for the funeral is yet to be settled on.

His grandmother has also requested that Chira is buried in a graduation gown.

“Brian was a very bright student, he got an A- minus,” Baba Talisha said.
