For the better part of Monday morning, social media has been awash with reports that Boni Mwaitege, a renown gospel singer from Tanzania was dead.

It was alleged that Mwaitege was involved in a tragic road accident and he did not make.

The shocking news left Mwaitege’s fans shattered and confused. Others however did not believe it and hoped for an official communication from his family.

Mwaitege’s wife has since broken silence on the matter, revealing that the gospel singer is safe and sound.

Speaking to Ayo TV, the wife confirmed that he arrived home safe after a journey from Kenya, saying that the death reports were untrue.

” Boni Mwaitege ni mzima kabisa ametoka safari kutoka Kenya na amefika nyumbani salama, amepumzika,” she said.

Fellow artists also confirmed that Mwaitege was alive and well and wasn’t involved in any accident.

“The news all over social media that Boni Mwaitege is dead is not true. Boni Mwaitegeis in good health, he is not dead. I am requesting that you help spread good news that Boni Mwaitege, the servant  of God is not dead, he is alive. I have communicated with him on phone and we exchanged pleasantries. The report that he is dead is not true. He wasn’t involved in any accident and he has no plan of dying now,” the chair of gospel music in Tanzania said.
