The body of a middle-aged woman was discovered abandoned in City Park, Parklands, Nairobi. Identified as Rosemary Shikoku, aged 35, she was found with her hands tied behind her back and had facial injuries.

The murder appears to have occurred elsewhere, as there was no evidence of blood at the scene. The police found a bag near the body of the woman containing her identification and assorted clothing. Detectives are investigating the murder and trying to determine where it took place.

In a separate incident,  the body of a 23-year-old university student,  who was reported missing on February 29 has been recovered.

Samuel Gathongo was a student at the  Kenya Methodist University (KMU). His decomposed body was discovered in a house located at Mathare shopping centre, Imenti North, Meru County.

Gathongo’s friends had raised concerns about his disappearance, prompting a search effort. However, it was until March 4 that his body was found in his rented accommodation.

The discovery was made by the landlady, who noticed flies coming from Gathongo’s locked house while she was attending to laundry. Upon closer inspection, she observed Gathongo’s body hanging from a rope tied around his neck, suspended from a roof.

Authorities were immediately notified, and upon investigation, no signs of physical injury were found on the body. Despite a thorough search of the premises, no suicide note was recovered.
