Nasibo

A video of former NTV journalist Nasibo Kabale living in the streets left Kenyans heartbroken and angry, with a lot of Kenyans.

Nasibo rose to popularity in 2020 due to her impressive coverage of Covid 19. The pandemic however left her depressed because of the deaths that resulted from it, as she was at the forefront of reporting them. She sought treatment at the Chiromo Hospital before permanently quitting her job at Nation Media Group.

“It happened that the company dismissed people from the office but fortunately I was among the five that were retained but the job became challenging after I began witnessing people dying. It disturbed me,” Nasibo narrated in the viral video.

Following the distressing footage, Comedian-turned activist Eric Omondi, looked for Nasibo’s family in a bid to establish her exact situation.

Eric was able to meet Nasibo’s mother who confirmed that she is admitted to a rehabilitation and was doing well. Nasibo was taken to rehabilitation by her brother.

“I am in Jamhuri, niko kwa akina Nasibo, our beautiful sister on the trending story. I wanted to get it from the horse’s mouth. As am speaking to you, Nasibo is okay. She has been flown to a rehab, amepelekwa na ndugu yake ako sawa na atakuwa sawa. We needed to know that. The mother has explained to me the situation, what Nasibo is going through,”| he said in a video shared online.

Eric further said that Nasibo’s daughter is also in school.

“She is not homeless and she will be okay,” he added as she urged Kenyans to pray for the family.

In the same video, Journalist Nasibo’s mother confirmed that she is doing well despite the trending video.

“She is in rehab, she has already checked in, it is just a video that trended but ako sawa ako na kwao,” she said.
