Singer Mr Seed lost his mother Teresa Auma late last month. The deceased was battling a condition that saw her in and out of hospital for more that one and a half years.

Family and friends gathered for Auma’s memorial service on Thursday before her burial.

At the venue in an interview, an emotional Mr Seed opened up on the condition that robbed him his mother.

“She had a problem with the spine. In the spine there are discs, one of her discs was misplaced and was lying on nerves. We were shown this on 3D imaging. Because the disc was on the nerves, it was very critical for her to undergo surgery so she has just been under observation.  We tried physiotherapy but it was not successful. We tried a lot of things little did we know that our efforts were worsening her condition,” he said adding that his mum fell and fractured both her legs.

“We wouldn’t have opted for surgery when both legs were fractured. We waited for 2 months,” he said. His Mum’s organs would then fail, further worsening her condition.

Mr Seed recalled the last moments he spend with his mother at Luton Hospital including their conversations. A day before she finally rested, she wanted sour milk.

“She asked me  sour milk. She started requesting at 1pm  and insisted until evening after she got out of theatre. I went to a supermarket I bought. It was  weird because I was wondered why she wanted it sour. I preferred to bring her yoghurt but she insisted that she wanted sour milk,” he said.

He brought the milk and stayed with her until 11pm, when he wanted to go home, promising that they would meet the following day.

“It’s like she didn’t want me to go but because I had stayed there the whole day so she agreed me to leave. She told me go, we will see each tomorrow, that is the last thing she told me,” he said.

That night, Mr Seed says, was not peaceful as he was fighting death thoughts. The following morning, he received a call from the hospital informing him that he was needed urgently. Upon arrival he was informed of her demise.

“I rushed to the hospital and found her…She was already….I sat there, before calling anyone I was just in that room, I cried until I was tired so I was just looking at her sleeping, she was very peaceful. From that life, now it’s two weeks later, my life has never been the same,” Mr Seed said.
