Robert Alai

Kenyan blogger and cyber activist Robert Alai urges Kenyan youths to cease protests and allow dialogue to solve issues raised during countrywide demos.

In a post on his X account, Alai says Kenya has a large population which also has their opinions which needs to be considered.

“Generation Z represents only a segment of our population. They have yet to demonstrate, through science or otherwise, that they embody the aspirations of all Kenyans,” Alai stated.

Importantly, the blogger emphasized on following the law saying Kenya is a country guided by the rule of law and no one is above it.

He asks people to avoid being used by a few to cause instability in the country for their own benefits.

“Our nation is governed by laws, and we must adhere to them. Do not encourage further instability by yielding to the whims of a weaponized mass of anarchists. Ignore the bullying and insults. Whether you dislike Ruto, Raila, Alai, or anyone else, stand up for a stable country and the rule of law.”

Clearly, the activist believes there are people who are taking shortcut to change the government without respect for the majority who are silent.

Robert Alai accuses the deputy president of initiating an attempted coup against the government.

“Reject shortcuts to regime change. Let’s respect the silent majority. 52 million Kenyans are not supporting Gachagua’s coup; they are quiet, but they desire better governance, he alleged.

“It’s crucial to be aware that the civil society behind the current push received Ksh 230 million in May 2024 alone.” he revealed.

Alai further cautioned of a hijack of the Gen Z movement by individuals who want to popularize their manifestos and agenda.

“Do not allow them to weaponize a good movement. The Gen Z movement has been hijacked by career commercial activists who are less accommodating than the very people they criticize daily.”

He warned that if they are not going to be careful the country will be plunged into chaos in the likes of Sudan and the DRC.
