Natalie Githinji, a popular content creator and NRG Radio presenter explained how her endometriosis  condition has made her be in and out of hospital so many times.

During a recent interview, she opened up on how she has had two surgeries so far because of her condition.

“In a month, first week ni ya pain before ovulation, another one week ya ovulation, another one week ya painful periods alafu another week ya kurecover, in a month niko na like two weeks before nianze hio cycle tena so sometimes ikinilemea ndio unakuta nimeenda surgery or nimeadmitiwa coz I have to get the injections, the painkillers”Natalie said.

This condition has made it difficult for her to balance work since she has been on and off work and hospital.

“Nilikuwa namiss job. My boss amenivumilia kama kuna mtu anafaa afutwe hii kampuni ni mimi. Nilikuwa nakuja  kazi two weeks one week niko hosy. Nimekuwa on and off. I actually thank my bosses kwa kunivumilia. I think ningekuwa fired,” she said

The radio presenter has been dumped multiple times by guys she dated after they found out that she was battling endometriosis. Also keeping friends has been difficult for her.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue resembling the lining of the uterus grows outside of it. This can lead to heavy bleeding, painful periods, and pain during bowel movements or sex.

When Natalie experienced painful cramps and an intense flow in 2016, she realized she had endometriosis. Natalie’s conditions got so bad that the excruciating pain made it difficult for her to move.

After she sought a second opinion, the physician accidentally revealed that she might have the condition something her previous doctors had never disclosed to her.

She lost a lot of weight as a result of the illness, and at one point it even made her feel suicidal.

Natalie has become a champion of endometriosis, using her platform to create awareness about the condition.

Ever since receiving this diagnosis, she has been an active supporter of encouraging women with similar conditions as hers to not give up.

In 2021 she underwent an operation to be able to manage and live with her endometriosis condition.
