Kenyan arbantone singer Tipsy Gee has admitted that music does pay.
Speaking on an interview the talented artist admitted that the viral hits he has made in a span of two years has had a big financial impact on him and his parents.
Further stating that the money he gets from his music ,he reinvest the money back to his music career.
Unlike several Kenyan artist who would beg to differ with him Tipsy seemed sure of what he was saying, revealing that he plans to pursue his music career for the next 15 years because the industry is promising .
“Aah sipendi kumention sana amounts but tunakula pesa poa mi siwezi wadanganya mziki inalipa hata ukiona tunafanya vitu kama hizi ma launch tuko na dooh mi naeza sema hivyo tunaeza kuwa tunacheza chini ki lifestyle but mi personally dooh yangu nainvest back to music but mziki Iko na ganji ni kitu naeza penda kuwork on for the next 15 years juu ishanionyesha Iko promising sana ,si ni hii mziki Inanilea Inalea wazazi Wangu,” he said.
The artist further made it clear on the importance of doing splits before working with any artist. This is to prevent any confusions when its time to earn royalties from the song .
He regretted having turned a blind eye on that when he made a hit song with a particular artist but he played coy on details about the matter.
“Lazima nidiscuss splits zangu before,” he said, majorly to avoid conflicts that have in the past been visible on the Kenyan music industry due to royalty feuds after a collaboration.
The controversial arbantone music has faced intense criticism for sampling beats. Tipsy Gee also revealed that he only sampled beats because that’s what the consumer wanted hence .
“But ukiangalia movement yangu, Kufinish Kumalo is an original beat, Taki Nakati yenye inalaunch sahi is an original beat,” Tipsy Gee said
