Elani’s Bryan Chweya has accused Sauti Sol’s Savara of clout chasing with their band Elani and stating that they fell off for trying to compete with Sauti Sol.
Brian accused Savara of trying to get relevance by mentioning them and by also implying that they made good music because of him.
” A simple midas touch, you begged to produce. Keep our name out of your clout chasing mouth . Savara lies on the Mic Cheque podcast on Elani muziki. You recorded all our songs.” Chweya said.
He also alleged that Savara was speaking that way because he fell behind his former band mate’s success musically.
“Just because Bien is doing better than you expected alone!!!” he added.
Savara in an interview with Mic cheque podcast said that he produced and wrote songs for them but according to him, they failed to master the industry well and it resulted to them falling off.
” Elani,, the only thing I can say about Elani , hio time nlikua very hungry at that time and I don’t think they understood the assignment. I produced for them many songs Jana Usiku. Kuna tu ngoma nyingi nlikua nawaandikia na hio time ndio walikua wanahit.” Savara said.
He also pointed out a possibility of being misled by their management making them try to compete with the popular boy band terming it as a big mistake.
“I think kuna manager walikua nao alikua anawadanganya. Kitu ikawadanganya wanaeza replace Sauti Sol. Biggest of the mistake.” he said
He said that he produced for them five songs while learning about production at that time. He stated that he saw potential in them because not many groups had many females and one male.
”But then wakaanza kumea pembe yet I was there with them kwa hio journey. Alafu wakaanza kujiona wanoma. Ilifika point Maureen na Brian wakaanza kutafuta other jobs to make ends meet and when that happens, down the drain.” Savara said.
