Police officers attached to Kehancha police station in Migori county are pursuing a man who stabbed his employer before fleeing to Tanzania.
The suspect is said to have descended on his employer after an altercation that resulted from being suspended from work.
One of the police officers privy to the investigations said that the incident unfolded at the deceased businessman’s premises in the morning shortly after he had opened his business.
The suspect, who had been suspended the previous week, arrived at the scene.
The two had a conversation that later escalated into an argument which turned tragic after the employee took a knife and stabbed the businessman on the chest.
The suspect fled the scene afterwards and he is believed to be hiding in Tanzania.
“They began arguing and following the confrontation, the former employee took a knife and stabbed him on the chest leading to the businessman to succumb to the injuries. He then fled to Tanzania,” the police officer said.
The police are yet to establish what led to the altercation. It has also been established that the suspect did not take money that was left on the table, hence ruling out the case of theft.
Locals are urging security personnel to speed up investigations to bring the suspect into book.
