Former News anchor and media personality Terryanne Chebet has revealed that she is currently dating.
Speaking to KTN’s Art of Living, the single mum of two spoke highly of her partner.
“There is someone in the picture. [He’s] somebody who is present. He is serious about building not just the relationship but building a future together he’s fun to be around,” she said.
Despite being in the serious relationship, Terryanne, who will be turning 45 this year, ruled out on the possibility of having more children.
“The world does not need any more kids,” she explained.
At the same time, she opened up on her career plans admitting that she doesn’t consider being on TV again.
“I don’t think I want to be on TV. I want to drive, I want to lead, I want to use the lessons I have learnt to positively impact the channel that I work for now. I don’t even think I am great at interviews any more and I really think I was good at it now I look at it and I am like ‘Oh my God she is such a good anchor’ and am like ‘Was I ever that good?’ I have gained enough experience to lead, to manage, so that is the space I want to focus on,” she said.
Terry graced the screens working for different media organisations including KBC, Citizen, Fanaka TV and Metropol TV.
Terryanne joined Citizen TV in 2010 but was fired in 2016, along with her other colleagues due to redundancy. In a past interview, she admitted that that was one of the lowest moments in her life.
“It was many things. It was very hard in the beginning, just hearing the news crashed me and it crashed from a very personal point, because it is one thing when you lose your job but its another thing when you lose your job so publicly and such a public job. When you have such a strong believe in yourself, I do my work well. So even when there was announcement that they will be redundancy, I never imaged it could be me.
“So when it happened I did not know what to do. I called my friend and I was crying, then I went home, locked myself in a room. And the hardest person to tell was the house-help, because you are just at home, locking yourself in your room. That was so hard because I had lived with her for more than 10 years and she had never seen me cry,” she said.
