As many people are waiting for the upcoming World Schools Cross Country, hosted by Kenya, excitement is seen among participants .This is because 419 athletes from 22 nations have already registered for this prestigious one-day event as the stage is set for a thrilling display of athletic fitness.
Countries like Uganda, Morocco,Turkey, Qatar, Rwanda, England, Tanzania, Mexico, Namibia, Czech Republic,New Zealand, Nigeria, Croatia, Luxembourg, Ireland and China are expected to participate, bringing their own unique strengths to the mix, showcasing the global diversity of talents converging in Kenya.
Kenya, as the host, stands at the forefront, not only as the organizing country but also as a strong force to be reckoned with in the competition. Kenyan athletes, renowned for their dominance in long distance running especially its famous Kalenjin communities which is known for the long distance, are gearing up to defend their home turf and showcase their exceptional skills to the world.
The trials event was held in Nakuru Boys High School where the best of the best who were among the top 10 athletes during the event earned the opportunity to represent Team Kenya. This process of selection was rigorous and very competitive showing the nation’s determination to forming the best possible team for the World Schools Cross Country.
The diversity of nations participating in the event is a show to the global interaction and sports unifying power. From as far as England, Mexico , China and Ireland to as near as Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania athletes from different parts of the world meet to show their superiority and prowess of their athletes.
